Echoes for Tomorrow
Exhibition Design
“Echoes for Tomorrow” was briefed as an exhibition about how “technology-enabled design reshapes cultural experiences”. A key feature of the exhibition was the collaborative works from LASALLE College of the Arts and Korea National University of Arts (K.Arts), framing the use of machine learning, voice recognition, and design as a way of considering the cultural dynamics within human-machine interactions.
Two anchor projects from Lasalle, Data Spaces and AlgoJam, were also showcased, with Data Spaces demonstrating these themes by reinterpreting data as cultural artefacts, and AlgoJam combining algorithmic processes with music as a form of “collaboration” across different disciplines.
As part of Singapore Design Week 2024, “Echoes for Tomorrow” targeted a wide range of audiences, including design professionals, students, and the general public. It was meant to embody inclusivity, aligning with this year’s theme of “People of Design”.
